US Army, ret
USMA '71

Calvert “Cal” Benedict, USMA ’71, served a 28-year career in the Army, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. Highlights of his Army career include being a Ranger, selected for an Olmsted Scholarship which led to a master’s degree in international relations from Grenoble University in France, assignments with the 82nd Airborne at Ft. Bragg, and serving as a Foreign Area Officer in Germany and France including Assistant Army Attache in France and Belgium. After retiring, he worked as a Program Manager for Caterpillar, Inc. in Europe and the United States. He retired from the company in 2015.

Cal will be talking about funding projects he has pursued over the last few years, including support for the new American Foundations Minor at West Point as a counter to the DEI/CRT view of our history, and an endowment project for the Lieber Institute for Law and Land Warfare at West Point, which is a complement to the work of the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point and other Centers related to support of our Armed Forces in the currently evolving environment of operational engagement.

Our monthly Commanders Calls are held on Zoom. This event is open to anyone who aligns with our mission to “Save and Restore” West Point—whether you are a West Point graduate or not.

Register below to be on the list to receive a reminder email with the Zoom link two days before the event and the morning of the event.
